Howard Adel established N&S in 1947, when he saw the opportunity to service and support the growth of families and businesses on Long Island by providing high-quality electrical supplies and lighting. Revitalizing the square with modern landscaping, art installations, and architectural upgrades to create a visually appealing space that reflects the city's character.
Ensuring the square is accessible to all residents, including those with disabilities, by incorporating ramps, wider pathways, and better signage.
Adding more green areas, such as trees, plants, and garden beds, to promote sustainability, reduce the urban heat island effect, and improve air quality.
Installing seating areas, shaded spaces, public restrooms, water fountains, and other amenities to make the square a comfortable destination for individuals and families.
Creating areas for community events, art displays, live performances, and social gatherings to encourage civic engagement and local cultural expression.
Implementing eco-friendly design elements, such as energy-efficient lighting, water conservation systems, and the use of recycled or sustainable materials.
This project will enhance the overall public transport experience by improving cleanliness, accessibility, and environmental sustainability, while also boosting the city's aesthetic appeal and promoting public health.
The City Square Revitalization project will breathe new life into an essential public space, making it an attractive, functional, and sustainable hub for the community. By focusing on accessibility, sustainability, and cultural engagement, the project will create a modern urban space that fosters social interaction, environmental awareness, and a sense of pride in the city.
